Field Trip: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice

At SPACS College, we believe that the best learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. On December 1, 2020, our faculty members and students embarked on an enlightening field trip to the University of The West Indies (UWI) Medical Science Department, specifically visiting the Teaching Hospital Pathology Laboratory Department.

A Day of Educational Awareness

The visit was centered on a specialized Education Awareness Session, designed to give our students a firsthand look at the high-level operations of a premier pathology laboratory.

Highlights of the visit included:

• Professional Insights: Students observed the processing and analysis of clinical specimens in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment.
• Technological Exposure: A close-up looks at the sophisticated diagnostic equipment used in histopathology and clinical pathology.
• Career Inspiration: Interacting with seasoned professionals at UWI-Teaching provided our students with a clearer vision of their future roles as Medical Laboratory Scientists and Technicians.
